If it’s a fun night of music & entertainment you're after, then legend Rugby League player Eric Grothe and his band, The Gurus are the perfect entertainment for your venue, function, corporate event or festival.

The Gurus are solid, rockin’ party covers band that has its origins in Sydney bands " Three Day Grothe " & "Dave Gleeson & The Stilsons".

The band has been delighting Australian audiences since 2007 and have featured many special guest vocalists including: Dave Gleeson (The Screaming Jets), Jon Stevens (Noiseworks), Wolf Mail (USA blues legend),  Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), Mark Gable (Choirboys) and Mike Vee (Whispering Jack).

BAND MEMBERS

Rugby League legend Eric Grothe (Snr) fronts the band on vocals & guitar. Other members of The Gurus are:

  • Patrick Hopkins - drums & vocals, (ex Dave Gleeson & The Stilsons, Wolf Mail)
  • Dave Cunningham - bass & vocals, (ex Vegimite Reggae)
  • Ted Brennan - guitar & vocals (ex The Booze Brothers).

Eric Grothe & The Gurus regularly perform on the P&O State Of Origin cruises joined with special guests Steve Hart and Bill Harrigan.

Bill Harrigan (not just the world's greatest NRL referee!) is also available as a guest performer for shows, corporate events or sporting events with Eric Grothe & The Gurus.

The Gurus can also be booked as a 5 or 6 piece band for any event including corporate events, festivals, clubs & pubs or as a supporting set with the ICEHOUSE Tribute Show.
